Lately I have been enjoying being inspired by other beaders blogs. Some have inspired me to try mediums that I haven't yet. Some inspire me with colors. I came across Sweet Bead Studio by following blog links. I love the way Cindy works with metals. This is something that I haven't tried yet but looking at her work makes me want to give it a go. She is having a blog contest right now, in which she is offering 3 prizes. Check it out here or just go drool over her work!

Happy beading!

ACK I must be crazy

Not only did I sign up to be challenged by Use the Muse II. But I had another idea for it pop into my head and I decided to enter a second time. I can't wait to show you what I came up with. You should give this a try. It is a lot of fun to be challenged by something new.

Happy Beading.

Paragon Bracelet

I wanted to share this bracelet with you. The Paragon Bracelet has a very tactile feel when worn. It works up very quickly in a few hours and is so sparkly!

I hope you enjoyed seeing it. I added the pattern for Paragon Bracelet to the store.

Sneak Peek

Just a tease of my design for the contest (not showing you the MUSE yet though!) Mine is called Midnight Muse.

Use the MUSE pt 2

I received my Use the MUSE kit on Friday and spent time each day working on the contest. When I saw the colors of the materials in the kit, an idea popped in my head but I wanted to wait until I saw the Muse to decide if I was going to go that way. When I opened the kit I knew that the idea that was forming was going to work out with the Muse. Even still the weekend was spent creating and tearing apart and creating and setting it aside so I could look at it fresh. Then more creating and rumaging through my stash for the right color and did this one work or was that one better. Right now it is hanging on a model form waiting to see when I get home from work today if it is done or more work needs to be done to it. I think that it is pretty close to how I want it to be. I look forward to sharing it with you in about a month when all the designs submitted for the contest are revealed. This has been a lot of fun for me, this challenge. I think that everyone who takes part in the contest is a winner, regardless of the outcome because you have been challenged to create and you have a beautiful new piece to enjoy!!

Use the MUSE

I am so excited. I was recently picking through some bead blogs and checking out some of the links that other people had on their blogs and I came across Scarlett Lawson's site. She is a contributing editor to Beadwork magazine. I am just amazed at her work. She is very talented. Anyway she is sponsoring a "Use the Muse" contest. There is a "secret" MUSE element that needs to be used in the design along with a bunch of really cool beads that are shown. I decided that I was going to give this contest a try. I am looking forward to being challenged to use these materials to come up with something. So stay tuned and I will share with you my journey with this contest. Of course you will have to wait to see the "MUSE" till the contest results are public, no fun in ruining the surprise.

Who knows maybe you will feel challenged to try to "Use the Muse" yourself?? GO FOR IT!!
